Before we started traveling I had no idea there were ways you could find free accommodation in other countries! Recently I found out there are quite a few options to find free stays, and I decided to share my 3 favorite ones. If you're traveling on a budget, this options can help you save money and the third option can even include free meals!
1. House Sitting
This is the easiest way to find a nice place to stay for free! All you have to do is sign up to a house sitting platform like HouseCarers and browse house sitting jobs around the globe. In this website you will find people who need someone to watch over their pets, plants or any type of house maintenance while they are traveling. Cool idea, right?! Some offers will include access to a detached accommodation, some will include full access to the whole house and some will not include accommodation so make sure you read the whole description before applying to any job. It's important to know that you will have to pay a fee to have a membership that allows you to apply for jobs. I've seen other websites that charge monthly fees and can add up to 150USD/annually, but HouseCarers only charges 50USD/annually, which is pretty cheap considering you might get free accommodation for your trips.

2. Couch surfing
I've personally never tried this one yet, but it sounds really cool! CouchSurfing is a website that lists generous folks who have a couch, spare room or air mattress available for travelers. You don't have to do any type of work in exchange for the stay, but it would be nice to help with dinner or any other type of house chore while you're staying in someone's house. The website only charges $2.99/monthly or $14.99/annually for a membership, being the cheapest option within the 3 I've listed in this post.

3. Workaway
Willing to work in exchange for a free stay? This website allows you to find work opportunities around the world in exchange for accommodation and sometimes even 3 meals a day! The type of job required varies a lot. Some hosts are looking for a farm/garden hand, some are looking for childcare and help around the house and some might need help with more specific tasks that will require previous experience. Overall, most of the hosts are open minded and looking to help fellow travelers, so it's fairly easy to find good opportunities that will fit your current skills and it's also a great way to learn new skills!

Hope you guys enjoyed these tips! There are other ways to find free accommodation around the world but I listed the 3 best and easiest ones in my opinion. These opportunities not only give you free stay, but also the chance to immerse yourself in local culture by staying with residents and seeing your destination like a local.
Wishing you all the best in your travels!
